Welcome to my photography website. I am an amateur photographer with a particular interest in wildife, especially birds. Most of my photos are taken locally, on the Isle of Wight, where I currently live but I like to travel both in the UK and overseas and I have some trips in the UK planned for 2011.
My favourite subjects are birds, not only because I am interested in birds and am also a birder, but because they are all around us, very obvious and the most noticeable type of wildlife unlike shy mammals.
However, I recently bought a 100mm Canon macro lens and I’m planning to get out in the spring, summer and autumn taking pictures of insects, plants and fungi. I am also hoping to be able to take some badger and fox shots at the farm that my mother and stepfather recently took over at Niton, Isle of Wight – because it is private land, I will be able to set up a semi-permanent hide and be reasonably confident that it won’t get nicked or vandalised.
In addition to this site, I also have a Zenfolio site where all my – presentable – photos end up. This site is in addition to that and will be more of a proper website, rather than just a photo album and will concentrate on my best photos of wild birds, mammals, insects and plants.
All photos will be either 800 pixels or 1000 pixels on their longest side. This enables them to be viewed properly at a decent size.
